Romeo and Juliet weekend HW

Please finish up the 17th century pick-up lines worksheet for Monday. If you are struggling with comprehension in class, you can access the play at http://shakespeare.mit.edu/romeo_juliet/full.html

Also, some students have purchased the No Fear Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet version of the play, which gives a modern translation of every line of the play. This is completely optional, but it may help if you are struggling with comprehension.

Your mask is due in class this Tuesday. Please be sure to attach decorative or natural items to your mask versus just coloring it. You will wear the mask as we dance in class on Tuesday.

4th period - come straight to the library on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

5th period - Tuesday-stop, drop, and write in the classroom
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday-come straight to the library. Your vocab is due on Friday, and you will take the vocab. test in the library.

Chapter 1 questions were collected today. We will continue reading chapter 2 tomorrow in class. Please take the participation grade seriously for this unit. You must read along in class, bring your novel every day, and stay awake! If any of these things do not happen, you will earn a 0/20 for the day's participation.

Remember that binders are due and will be graded on Thursday, which is the last day of the 3rd quarter. As I have been bringing to your attention many times lately,any and all late work is due to me by Thursday. Please help your grades by catching up on missing work. You'll be glad you did when report cards come home!

Finally, vocabulary is due and will be tested on Friday. Be prepared!

Due to the systems outage today, the new deadline for your anthology is this Friday, February 24th.

In addition to the 7 annotated poems below, please be sure to also have the creative cover page, minimum 2 paragraph introduction and minimum 2 pages reflection ready to turn in on Friday. All of this must be typed.

You will present only one poem from the anthology on Friday. Remember that the anthology is a huge grade (140) points because we have worked for quite a long time on this unit. Do your best!

Poetry anthologies due Wednesday

Please work hard this weekend because we only have one more day in the library to type/design covers. Many of you said you were working to catch up this weekend. Good!

Anthologies should be in the following order:
1. Creative cover with graphics, title, and your name
2. Introduction about you and what life experiences inspired or influenced the poems (minimum 2 paragraphs)
3. 7 typed and annotated poems
4. Reflection (minimum 2 pages)

The reflection and intro should be double spaced, and the poems should be single spaced.

Be ready to take no more than 2 minutes to present a poem or two from your anthology on Wednesday. I am so very excited to discover more about you through your poetry.
