Today in class we anticipated and then read "Nikki Rosa" by Nikki Giovanni. We annotated Giovanni's  diction, imagery, and use or lack of punctuation and capitalization for effect. Tomorrow we will listen to a song by Lauryn Hill that is similar to the poem. You begin writing a narrative poem about your upbringing that reveals your character in the style of Giovanni's poem and Lauryn Hill's song.

Tonight's homework is to complete the worksheets on verbs if you missed more than 5 on the HW from last night.
