Continue reading TKAM tonight as homework. Remember that you will finish the novel over the weekend.

I wanted to let you know that the scores scanned in during class today were mostly inaccurate. The error has been corrected, and I am very happy to report that many of you met the benchmark goal!!!! I will share details during class tomorrow.

DON'T FORGET YOUR CHAPTER 10-18 QUESTIONS/2ND ALTERNATE ASSIGNMENT IS DUE TOMORROW!!

You have learned many different reading strategies during our in-class reading of To Kill a Mockingbird that will help you improve comprehension when reading. For that reason, you will become responsible to read many chapters independently before break.

If you are not in that group, I reminded the entire class to come prepared with the novel EVERY DAY. If you have been one of the repeat offenders, please remember that I will start making this a discipline issue as of tomorrow.

helping verbs and TKAM

We have another song to help you learn the list of 23 helping verbs that can appear BEFORE the main verb(s) in sentences. Please work on mastering the list because you will be required to underline those as part of the verb phrase as we go through the 4 steps of sentence deconstruction. 

The four steps include:
1. Are there any infinitives? Put them in parentheses.
2. Are there any prepositional phrases? Put a line through them.
3. What is the verb? Does it have any helpers? Underline the entir...
