Please be sure to memorize the list of linking verbs, practice identifying those in sentences with the worksheets of sentences from the past few weeks, and know the rules of checking linking verbs. The test is on Monday.

Label helping verbs with HV
Label main verbs with MV
In the margins, indicate LV for a linking verb or AV for an action verb. Don't forget to have your vocab ready for tomorrow!!!

New due date for lit. analysis

We will be in the library completing ILP on Wednesday and Friday this week, so your literature analysis is due Thursday instead of Wednesday. Please come to your regular classroom on Tuesday.
Additionally, be sure to read and annotate the essay about poetry. The writer offers fabulous ideas that can inspire you to be more aware of your surroundings and to investigate and think about the world around and within you.

Friday and weekend

The work given to you by the sub today should be completed during class and over the weekend. You will need to study the irregular verb forms for the quiz on Monday. Pay close attention to the troublesome verbs sit/set, raise/rise, and lay/lie. Remember we are trying to break old habits of incorrectly using these verbs. Studying and practicing are the only ways to break these habits and progress to use correct grammar.
