A busy week!

January 24, 2012
Your root word vocab. is due Thursday, and we will quiz on it Friday. Use google to search the root words in addition to prefixsuffix.com and learnthat.org

Today in class we continued to look at "Nikki Rosa" by annotating Giovanni's diction, imagery, and use or lack of punctuation and capitalization for effect. Your assignment is to write a narrative poem about your upbringing that reveals your character in the style of Giovanni's poem and Lauryn Hill's song. This typed and annotated original poem is due in class on Friday along with a 2 paragraph autobiographical introduction for your final poetry anthology.

Tonight's homework is to complete the worksheets on subject/verb agreement and verbs.

Have a great night!

New due date for lit. analysis

January 15, 2012

We will be in the library completing ILP on Wednesday and Friday this week, so your literature analysis is due Thursday instead of Wednesday. Please come to your regular classroom on Tuesday.

Additionally, be sure to read and annotate the essay about poetry. The writer offers fabulous ideas that can inspire you to be more aware of your surroundings and to investigate and think about the world around and within you.

Have an excellent weekend!
