Finish chapter 8's reading, questions, and literature log tonight as homework.
Your vocabulary is due tomorrow. The extra credit vocab is due on Friday if you choose to do it.
On Friday, we will take the vocabulary test, turn in questions and lit logs for chapters 1-9, and then share some of the XES quote entries from your lit. logs.
Please keep working on the short story corrections/additions/revisions, as the deadline to turn those in is next Wednesday, November 9th.
I hope you're enjoying TKAM. Have a great night!

This week's
vocab is short and sweet so that you may concentrate on revising your short stories. Today in class and tonight you should ensure verb tense consistency and that your dialogue is punctuated correctly by looking at my comments and reviewing-line by line-your verbs and dialogue. These grammar elements are review, but necessary to be sure your writing is clear and understandable.
These changes are to be done before you come into class tomorrow.
Tonight you will read and do the work f...

While I am reading your urban legends this weekend, you should finish reading through chapter 6. Answer the ch.5 and ch. 6 questions, and do the literature logs for both chapters.
Next week will be primarily a reading week both in class and as homework, so feel free to read ahead if you have an open weekend.
Enjoy!

Most of you should be done with the chapter 4 study questions, reading, and literature logs already as I gave you class time to work. Tomorrow we will read a few urban legends in class, and then we will write an urban legend. Remember to ask your parents about any urban legends they know from their childhoods as well as those you remember from your own.
Reminder:
root word vocab is due Thursday, and the quiz will be on Friday.
Have a great night!

I really liked the suggested revisions with sensory details that many of you offered in class today. Once you add in at least three
exploded moments tonight as your homework, I think you'll really see your stories come to life.
DO NOT FORGET to come straight to the library tomorrow with your revised story on a flash drive or saved to your U drive or Skydrive.
This week's
vocabulary is due on Wednesday and the test is on Thursday.
Have a great night!
